Original fiction, shared discoveries
Game night, without a download
Bring the group into the same case.
This virtual escape room for friends runs in a browser, with no separate app to install. One host creates a paid room and shares its code with up to four guests. Those guests join free without an account, email, or purchase. Everyone investigates the same fictional case, so you can exchange observations and decide which details matter. If you would rather inspect clues directly than move through a 3D space, use the Evidence view. The playing guide explains the approach without spoiling the answers.
Investigate on your own
Looking for a free online escape room?
The homepage's Play solo option is free. It lets you try The Intake Room on your own, following the evidence through three sequential objectives in a fifteen-minute round. This free online escape room option is solo play, not a free hosted multiplayer room. To invite friends into a shared room, the host buys a room pass. You can choose whichever option suits your plans without downloading software. Every case is original fiction; the records annex and its mystery are a game setting, not a factual true-crime story.
Room access
Plan your time together.
A shared room pass is $9.99 USD plus applicable tax for one host and up to four guests. No sign-up is required before buying. Stripe shows the final total before payment, and your host account is created from your checkout email. An unused pass never expires, which lets you buy before choosing your game night. The room's 24-hour window starts when you create it, including the lobby. You can play unlimited fifteen-minute rounds inside that window; after it ends, a new pass opens another room. Read pricing for the details.
A little preparation
Start with a code, not a complicated setup.
Choose your host, share the room code with the right people, and allow time to join before starting a round. A guest can recover their seat only in the same browser tab; a host can recover an active seat through their account on another device. Our FAQ covers access and recovery. If your group is larger than five or includes remote colleagues, read the team-building guide for organizing separate rooms. Browse the room directory or learn how it works before your investigation.
